Skylar Ackerman Family & Wiki: Who Is Patrick Ackerman? Meet Her Parents

Skylar Ackerman

Skyler Ackerman inherited the curling gene from her father, therefore she has carried on the family tradition.
Skylar also gets encouragement from her father, Patrick, as she navigates her athletic career. Skylar Ackerman is a Canadian curler from Saskatchewan. Her national debut came at the 2018 Canadian U18 Curling Championships.

Despite a turbulent start to her career, she has just regained her footing. She is coached by her father, Patrick, and competes with Team Ackerman. Team Ackerman won the Viterra Scotties provincial championship in February 2024, earning the right to represent Saskatchewan in the 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Surprisingly, this is just their second participation as a team in the tournament.

Skylar Ackerman’s Parents

Regarding her parents, her father, Patrick Ackerman, is a curling coach who helps her with job advancement and choices. He has guided his daughter through the highs and lows of her athletic journey. Mastering the subtle technique of sweeping is difficult, especially in a sport like curling, where accuracy in stone delivery and comprehension of ice conditions are critical. As a result, a good coach-player interaction is essential. Skylar is lucky to have that relationship with her father, which is crucial while navigating the complexities of curling. However, there is little information available regarding Skylar Ackerman’s mother. Her personal life is kept private, maybe because she prefers to avoid the spotlight.

A Special Father-Daughter Relationship

Patrick’s coaching qualifications include being a highly skilled tutor from Saskatchewan, Canada. That’s why winning the latest tournament in their hometown meant so much to Skylar. Team Ackerman competed in a dramatic and intriguing encounter against the Nancy Martin rink. They eventually won 10-9 in overtime thanks to a well-executed hit and-roll on their last stroke.

In an interview with Global News Canada, Patrick expressed admiration for Skylar’s early professional successes. He can’t wait to see what happens next.

“I’ve coached Skylar for almost her whole curling career. To witness the completion of that first step in a career is great. “It’ll be a blast.”

Patrick, the youngest team ever to qualify for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts from Saskatchewan, said that this success is a credit to the team’s and Skylar’s years of hard labor. Skylar notes that the journey with her father from junior levels to women’s competition has created lifelong memories for the two of them.

Following the triumph, she described it as one of the highlights of her short career thus far.

“It’s really special having my dad here with me and to win my first green jacket in women’s with him is pretty awesome.”

It would be intriguing to watch what happens next for the father-daughter combination. If their early success is any indicator, Skylar will become a legend in Canadian curling.
