Nick and Vanessa Lachey, a husband and wife team, host the program. The six couples will be guided by Nick and his wife as they put their love to the test by living with other possible partners. The first eight episodes of The Ultimatum will be available on Netflix on April 6, followed by the conclusion and reunion on April 13th.
According to the show’s official synopsis:
“Six distinct couples on the approach of getting married.” One spouse is eager to marry, while the other is unsure. An ultimatum is delivered, and they have just over eight weeks to commit to marriage or go on. In the interim, each will pick a new prospective mate from one of the other couples, in a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see two alternative possible futures.”
In a simulated marriage, the couples will stay with partners other than their own for three weeks. If they don’t want to be with anybody else, they’ll get married; otherwise, they’ll split up and go on.
