Career
Scot was an outfielder with the Dunedin Blue Jays in 1994 when he got his first call for a scouting position from the Green Bay Packers then-general manager. He took the job and served as a regional Scout from 1994 to 1999. Scot went on to work as the collegiate scouting director for the Seattle Seahawks from 2000 to 2004, before joining the San Francisco 49ers as vice president of player personnel in 2005.
Scot’s contract with the 49ers was mutually ended in 2010 owing to his pending divorce and drinking, both of which he subsequently disclosed. The Seattle Seahawks subsequently recruited Scot as an assistant drafter. He held this position until April 2014, when he resigned for personal reasons. Scot was then recruited by the general manager of the Washington Redskins, but he was sacked again due to his serious drinking.
