Marvel has set its sights on extending its cinematic world in a new direction with projects like Secret Invasion, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight. Secret Invasion is one such highly anticipated project that Marvel is about to release. The company has disclosed relatively little information about the project, which is set to be released in 2023. We already know that some cast members, like Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and The Crown’s Olivia Coleman, will make their MCU debuts. As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Samuel L. Jackson will return. However, in an interview, the mysterious Nick Fury spilled the beans in an ironic disclosure of a series character.
Martin Freeman will appear in Secret Invasion, according to Samuel L. Jackson.
When questioned about working with co-stars by Josh Horowitz, Jackson inadvertently mentioned Martine Freeman, who has yet to be confirmed by Marvel to feature in the series. Jackson said in the interview,
“Isn’t that incredible? Freeman, Martin.”
Jackson continued,
“Come on, come on. When I stepped into the studio and saw Olivia Colman standing there… we immediately began giggling, and when we started working, it was so lovely and so much fun. We were just having a fantastic time. She is wonderful and effective in a scenario.”
Everett Ross, the Deputy Task Force Commander, was portrayed by Martin Freeman. Freeman made his film debut in Captain America: Civil War, making a short cameo. He was spotted stealing Captain America’s shield as well as Sam Wilson’s falcon wings. He went on to play an important supporting role in Black Panther. When Michael B. Jordan’s character Killmonger stormed in to save Ulysses Klaue, Ross was shot in the back. Ross is subsequently saved by the Black Panther in Wakanda.

According to Samuel L. Jackson’s spoiler, Freeman will make his fourth appearance in the MCU in Secret Invasion. Martin Freeman has also announced that he will return in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Marvel Studios is keeping the premise and characters of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever under wraps. The highly anticipated film, set for release in 2022, will star Letitia Wright as Shuri and Winston Duke as M’Baku. Dominique Thorne is rumored to make her MCU debut as Ironheart. Because Martin Freeman’s role appears in both films, we believe Wakanda Forever and Secret Invasion will be closely related.
