He was the quarterback and team captain there. His college career, however, started in 2018 with Wake Forest University, when he won the starting quarterback position in preseason camp. Sam was named ACC Conference Rookie of the Week after defeating Rice on September 29. As a sophomore in 2019, Hartman envisioned himself as a backup quarterback. As a sophomore and team captain in 2020, he recovered his starting spot.

Following a game versus Army, Davey O’Brien was named the 2021 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week. In addition, Sam was voted the Brian Piccolo Award winner for the ACC’s courageous player, receiving second-team All-ACC accolades. Since January 5, 2023, the quarterback has been a member of the Notre Dame football team.

Sam Hartman: Faith And A Late Brother

Joe Hartman is Sam Hartman’s elder brother. He also had an adoptive brother, Demitri Allison, who entered Joe and Sam’s life considerably later. He died in 2015, at the age of 21, after falling from Morrison Hall, a University of North Carolina dormitory in Chapel Hill. Sam recalls his late sibling, whose initials he had etched on his bracelet, to this day.

“And when you love someone as much as you love a brother, missing him hurts just as much.” I recall November 11, 2015 as if it were yesterday.” Hartman became upset when about his brother.

Sam, on the other hand, gained strength and began to perceive things differently as a result of his faith.

“However, one thing that helped me was my faith.” My brother and I both came across Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 in the Bible, and it called to us both. I told my mother about it, and my brother even got a tattoo of it.”

Demitri, like Sam, had a pure spirit. Hartman remembers his brother to this day, and he carries onward with faith in God and Christianity.
