Ryan Bingham was born on March 31, 1981, in Hobbs, New Mexico, as George Ryan Bingham. His family moved about before settling in Houston, Texas. His mother died from drinking while his father committed suicide. Ryan received his education at Westfield High School in Houston. When he was 16, his mother bought him a guitar since he had always been drawn to music. He didn’t use it for a year, but he did use it a year later when he hitchhiked to his father’s job in Laredo, Texas.
