Rowoon will play the character of widower Shim Jung-woo.
Rowoon will play the part of a widower equipped with several abilities. Shim Jung-woo is bright in school and has all he wants in life, yet he is unlucky. He is also the youngest person in his community to pass the Civil Services Examination, and he is ready to marry. Meanwhile, Choi Yi-hyun is set to play Jung Soon-deok, a widow who lives a secret life, disguising her actual identity from society. During the night, she adopts the role of a daughter-in-law inside the Bukchon family, set in the Joseon period. However, as the sun rises, she makes a full makeover, transforming herself into a steadfast merchant interested in trade.
Jung Soon-deok faces several obstacles as a widow during the Joseon Dynasty. She secretly studies martial arts and other physical disciplines, preparing herself to confront danger on her own. She is regarded as an avid reader of love novels and a matchmaker in addition to her martial training. Jung Soon-deok meets Shim Jung-woo as the story progresses. They are responsible for marrying off the four most promising maidens to represent Joseon at the international level.
Hwang Seung-gi, known for his past works like Radio Romance and Into the Ring, will helm The Battle of Marriage, starring Choi Yi-hyun.
