Despite all of these challenges, Powell persisted in pursuing his football aspirations. He even moved from the Saints practice team to the Chicago Bears practice squad before joining with the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. Powell’s injuries, however, added obstacles to his short professional football career with the AAF Orlando Apollos. On January 9, 2019, the organization put him on the waived/injured list. As a result, he ended his football career in 2019.
