Rocsi Diaz was born on November 17, 1981, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She later moved to New Orleans with her family as a child. She is of Honduran and Chilean descent. Rocsi revealed on 106 & Park on July 30th, 2009, that she suffered from anorexia during her middle and high school years due to her love of cheerleading.
She graduated from West Jefferson High School in Harvey, Louisiana. Nicholls State University awarded her a bachelor’s degree.

While growing up in New Orleans, she began her career as a host on 97.9 The Beat, the city’s most popular urban radio station.
