Robbie Lawler was born on March 20, 1982, in San Diego, California, United States of America. When Robbie was 10, he moved to Bettendorf, Iowa, with his father and began his karate training. He attended Bettendorf High School and earned All-State honors in wrestling there. He met Pat Miletich when he was 16, and after graduating, he began training with the Miletich Fighting System in 2000.
