Rachel Shoaf made headlines during her adolescence when she and her buddy Sheila Eddy killed her closest friend Skylar Neese in 2012. For an extended period, the case was a source of contention. Rachel recently drew headlines for being married to another prisoner despite doing time for her crime. Although the reality of Rachel having a wife is murky, the internet is buzzing with speculation about her lesbian background in the murder case.
Is Rachel Shoaf Married?
Aside from a few non-conforming debates on Reddit, Twitter, and other social media sites, it’s unknown if Rachel is married to a woman. Amy Nicole Cobb is also named as Rachel’s supposed wife in some social media postings. However, without formal confirmation, the rumor remains unfounded. However, Rachel’s relationship with her friend Sheila, which arose during the murder case inquiry, may have sparked some reality to Rachel’s lesbian desire in the past.
The Inside Story of the Notorious Murder Case
Rachel, Sheila, and Skylar, three adolescent closest friends, stole out of their homes on the night of December 12, 2012, and only two of them came home. Rachel and Sheila first remained quiet about their crime and lied, claiming to have dropped Skylar off near her home that night. But, as suspicions about the girls grew, Rachel confessed over a month later that she and Sheila had stabbed Skylar to death and stashed her corpse in the Pennsylvania woods.
Furthermore, when questioned about the motive for the murder, Rachel responded, “We simply didn’t like her.” The confession did not make sense since the three were formerly an inseparable trio, and the case took a different course in subsequent inquiry. Before the murder case, Skylar tweeted, “just know I know,” implying there was more to the story. Police then uncovered Skylar’s journal, which proved Skylar had observed Rachel and Sheila’s intimate interaction. This revelation motivated the murder since the females may have killed Skylar to conceal their sexual connection. Though the motivation remains unknown, Sheila was sentenced to life in prison, while Rachel was sentenced to 30 years in jail for second-degree murder. The case also backfired on the parents of the convicted killers, who were negligent in parenting their children.
What Are Rachel’s Parents’ Names?
While Rachel’s crime drew national notice, her parents’ identities also drew attention. Rachel Shoaf was born to Patricia Shoaf and Rusty Shoaf. Rachel comes from a middle-class household; her mother worked in communication, and her father worked in a clothes business. Patricia had long since divorced and remarried. As a result, Rachel lived with her mother and stepfather.
What happened to her?
Rachel, now 25, has been sent to West Virginia’s Lake Correctional Center in Mason County, where her friend Sheila is also incarcerated. She was incarcerated in West Virginia’s Northern Regional Juvenile Detention Center before being transferred to the maximum-security prison.
