Prue Leith had a happy marriage with her first husband, Rayne Kruger, for over three decades, from 1974 until 2002. He died at the age of 80 at that time. In 2011, the Bake Off judge began a relationship with John Playfair. He was 70 at the time, and she was 76. They married in 2016 after being blissfully in love for five years.

According to The Sun, Leith married in Scotland, not exactly by choice. “I had to marry in Scotland because he wouldn’t wear a kilt south of the border,” she said. The problem was that she decided that if she were ever going to marry Playfair, it would have to be in a kilt. Despite their advanced age, the pair has had an unconventional love life.

To begin with, the couple still owns separate homes. It’s not that they don’t share a house. After being together for nine years, they purchased their first home together in November 2020. The spouse, it seems, has a particular moniker for their new house: “retirement home.” According to Dailymail, both the husband and wife own their own homes, where they spend time daily. On the surface, such a sentence may seem odd, but Leith explained why.
“I must add, I believe this is a small journalistic exaggeration,” she said. “We live in my home and sleep in my house every night, but the point is, he still has his house where all his stuff is.”
It all makes sense when you think about it. Before they met, each had lived their separate lives for at least 70 years. They obviously have a lot of things. “Imagine having to move half my stuff out of the home for his,” she said. “He is the most disorganized guy I have ever encountered; I am clean and organized; it would be terrible!” Even yet, he gets up every morning and serves his lovely wife a cup of tea. “I get it in bed,” she said. “He returns to his residence and cleans all of the shoes, including mine!”

While we’re on the topic, the famous chef said that they were still fairly active in the bedroom. When she saw the article claiming that millennials were having less sex, she gave them a few words of advice. “Try it; it’s rather tasty,” she said, according to reports. She openly said that at her age, people thought sex to be “romantic and lovely.” “Younger folks wonder, ‘Good Lord, are they still at it?'” she pondered.

“It may seem a little arrogant, but it’s very healthy that elderly ladies like myself aren’t simply supposed to sit in a corner and knit,” she said. Although she has no children with her current partner, she did have a son, Danny, and an adoptive daughter, Li-Da, with her previous husband.
