Philip Agassi is blissfully married to his jewelry designer wife Marti Agassi. The actual date of their marriage is uncertain, but they are still together and happily married. After his first marriage to model and actress Brooke Shields ended in divorce, Andre married fellow tennis player Steffi Graf in 2001. They had been in a relationship since 1999. Andre said in his autobiography that his father, Mike, a former Olympic boxer, used to feed him illegal amphetamines before games, which he used to take. His elder brother Philip urged him multiple times not to take pills provided by their father since he knew the tablets contained more than just caffeine. He also demanded that Andre pledge not to take any medications from his father. In 1997, he tested positive for methamphetamine. Andre described his father as a thug. Tennis was not something he desired from a young age, but it was something he was compelled to do by his father. He was tormented and lived in constant fear his entire life.
His father also taught him to play tennis, but he never pursued a professional career. Mike Agassi, his father, wished for his three children, Rita Agassi, Philip Agassi, and Andre Agassi, to be famous tennis players. Rita, his eldest daughter, was a formidable opponent. Philip was a good player who was put off by his sister Rita. Tami Agassi decided to concentrate on her studies. Philip then became Andre’s full-time travel companion.
