Career
Peter Worrell began playing professional ice hockey in 1997 and retired in 2006. Before becoming a professional ice hockey player, he played for Hull Olympiques and was a member of two QMJHL championship teams and the 1997 Memorial Cup champions. After being drafted by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, he began playing professionally. He participated in 19 total games for the Panthers, accumulated 153 PIMs, and did not tally a single point. Worrell scored his first goal on February 8, 1999, against the St. Louis Blues.
He was transferred to the Colorado Avalanche on July 18, 2003. Due to his knee injury, he missed the first 27 matches of his career. On December 11, 2003, he made his debut with the Colorado Avalanche. He played approximately 49 games for the Avalanche, scoring three goals and contributing one assist, which was the lowest point total in NHL history.
During the 2004-05 NHL season’s termination, Worrell contemplated retiring, but he ultimately decided to contract with the Los Angeles Rangers. He was appointed as the head coach of the Florida Atlantic University hockey club team on May 18, 2010.
