Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will be released by Paramount+ on Friday, October 6, 2023, in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Brazil. Meanwhile, the global premiere is set on October 7, 2023. Lindsey Beer’s supernatural horror film, written and directed by her, claims to bring to life Stephen King’s iconic book of the same name.
The 1983 horror book has been adapted twice for the big screen. The first time was in 1989, directed by Mary Lambert, and the second time was in 2019, directed by Kevin Kölsch. The 2023 adaptation serves as a prelude to the 2019 film Pet Sematary. According to IMDb’s summary of the forthcoming film,
“In 1969, a young Jud Crandall dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever bind him to Ludlow.” Jud and his boyhood pals must band together to confront an ancient evil that has possessed Ludlow since its inception and, if discovered, has the ability to destroy all in its path.”
Paramount Players and Di Bonaventura Pictures co-produced Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.
