Growing up was difficult because meeting basic needs was difficult. His father, Pablo Jaime, had no steady job and had to rely on odd jobs to support his family. His mother was no better off working as a housekeeper for wealthy families. Martinez worked as a mechanic as a teenager to support his parents.
