Dr. Ogugua Anunoby and Grace Ndidi Okereke, the parents of New York Knicks star OG Anunoby, have died. OG was just one when his mother died on May 12, 1998. Anunoby was born in London, England to Nigerian parents and relocated to the United States when he was four. The Anunoby family lived in Jefferson City, Missouri, and he is the seventh child. Dr. Ogugua Anunoby, OG’s father, graduated from the University of Nsuka-Enugu with a science degree. After moving to England, Anunoby Sr earned a master’s degree from the University of Strathclyde.
He subsequently earned an MBA from the University of Glasgow and completed his PhD at Brunel University. Dr. Anunoby taught at the University of Lagos, worked as an executive at the African Central Bank in Lagos, and was a professor at Oxford Brooks University. Until 2018, Anunoby Sr. was a lecturer at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. The NBA player’s parents had been married for 10 years when his mother passed away.
