Obie Trice was born on November 14th, 1977, in Detroit, Michigan. His mother raises him on the west side of Detroit. He is of African American origin, and he has three further brothers. He learnt to rhyme to instrumental music thanks to the karaoke machine his mother gave him for his eleventh birthday. He went to a rap battle with his mates when he was fourteen years old.
