Following in the footsteps of his grandpa, who was a rugby player in his childhood, Nicholas Sr. has instilled in his children a strong sense of sportsmanship as both a parent and a coach. Marleinna, the mother of eight children, faced a difficult chapter in her life when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2020. Fortunately, since the condition was diagnosed early enough, they were able to offer appropriate therapy.

Despite her health issues, Marleinna’s generosity shined through as she prepared to be a surrogate for a Belgian family and scheduled an embryo transfer in the UK. Furthermore, Nico’s elder brother, Matt, was a top high school volleyball player in the nation before transferring to Long Beach State. Nico’s sister, Nicaylah, also played volleyball at Cypress College while studying public relations.

Is Nico Going to Be the Next Great Quarterback?

Nico Iamaleava, a true freshman quarterback from Tennessee, earned a big win in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. Iamaleava ascended the stage with a smile after his Tennessee team’s 35-0 thrashing of Iowa. In the win, he completed 12 of 19 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. In addition, he scored three running touchdowns. By playing a clean game against an Iowa defense, the 19-year-old has shown maturity much beyond his years. After seeing Iamaleava’s fantastic performance, fans on social media couldn’t contain their enthusiasm.

Some predicted him to be Tennessee’s next major star quarterback. It’s possible, considering that Iowa’s defense is rated third in the country, allowing an average of 13.2 points per game and ranking fifth with 274.8 yards allowed per game.

Similarly, one person wrote,

“Nico Iamaleava has impressed me greatly.” This Iowa defense is no joke, and he appears at ease, even when the offensive line struggles at times. He’ll be everything we’ve dreamed for.”

Tennessee should have high expectations for the next season with Iamaleava spearheading the attack under Heupel and coordinator Joey Halzle.
