Nancy Kulp began her acting career in the early 1950s after moving to Hollywood. Nancy has appeared in a number of films as a supporting actress, including The Model and the Marriage Broker (1951), The Marrying Kind (1952), Steel Town, and others.

But none of these films propelled her to stardom. Kulp rose to prominence as a young actress after appearing as Pamela Livingstone in the Bob Cummings Show (1955-1959).

Nancy began to gain international acclaim in the early 1960s. Nancy appeared as Jane Hathaway in the television series The Beverly Hillbillies in 1962, and her performance was praised by all. She appeared in approximately 246 episodes, making her a national celebrity. Some of the comedy films in which Kulp appears include Who’s Minding the Store, The Patsy, Strange Bedfellows, The Night of the Grizzly, and others. Nancy appeared as Mrs. Gruber in The Brian Keith Show, an American sitcom, in 1973. Nancy also appeared in shows such as Simon and Simon, Return of the Beverly Hillbillies, ABC AfterNight School, and others from 1978 to 1989.

Nancy also ran for the Democratic nomination for the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania’s 9th congressional district. However, Kulp was defeated by Bud Shuster with less than half of the vote. Nancy blames her loss on her co-star, Buddy Ebson, who described her as too liberal in a radio campaign for her opponent. Nancy began working as an artist-in-residence at Juniata College, a private liberal arts college in Huntington, Pennsylvania, before returning to the big screen, and later began teaching acting.
