Mohsen Fakhrizadeh Age & Early Life
Fakhrizadeh was born in Qom in 1958 and joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps following the 1979 Iranian revolution.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Shahid Beheshti University and his doctorate from the University of Isfahan. He worked as a physics professor at Imam Hossein University starting in 1991.

Professor Fakhrizadeh was slain in a road ambush in Absard on November 27, 2020, with the knowledge and help of the Israeli government and the United States government, due to his claimed involvement in Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons development. Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen gave Israel’s closest acknowledgment of guilt for the assassination yet in a television interview in June 2021. The Iranian government described the scientist’s assassination as an act of “state terror.”
The assassination heightened regional tensions, prompting the Iranian legislature to approve a measure prohibiting inspections of the country’s nuclear program.
