Bachelorette Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya have part up. The pair split up after being engaged for less than a year. Young revealed on her Instagram story on Friday, June 17, that she is “very heartbroken” and needs some space to grieve after the breakup. Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya met while shooting The Bachelorette in October 2021, and they exchanged rings in the show’s season 18 finale in December 2021. Following their engagement in the program, the couple immediately began wedding preparations.

Michelle Young, a fifth-grade teacher, was on The Bachelor Season 25 before moving on to The Bachelorette. Young, a former Division I basketball player, is an outgoing person who enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, and wine tasting. She hoped that among the 30 bachelors who had joined the program to court the woman, she would find the love of her life. Her network bio described the guy she desires in her life:

After dumping runner-up Brandon Jones, Young accepted Olukoya’s proposal and referred to him as her “person.” The lovebirds got engaged at the conclusion of the program and departed together. Young and Olukoya were “thinking about a summer wedding,” while Nayte was “packing up” to go to Minnesota to be closer to his ladylove.
