Michael Dean Cohen is an American lawyer who has been barred from practicing law. From 2006 to 2018, he worked as an attorney for US President Donald Trump. He was a vice president of The Trump Organization as well as Trump’s personal counsel, and he was frequently referred to by the media as Trump’s “fixer.”
He was the co-president of Trump Entertainment and a board member of the Eric Trump Foundation, a children’s health charity. From 2017 to 2019, he served as the Republican National Committee’s deputy finance chairman. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to eight counts of bank fraud, tax fraud, and campaign finance violations following an FBI investigation. On October 11, 2018, he re-registered as a Democrat.

Michael began his legal career in 1992 when he began practicing personal injury law. Before joining Donald Trump’s organization, he worked for a law firm. He eventually became Trump’s close confidant after assisting Trump in gaining control of the condominium board at the “Trump World Tower.” In 2008, he was appointed COO of “Affliction Entertainment,” an MMA promotion company. He continued to show his support for Trump over the next few years, until 2018. In January 2017, a private intelligence report titled “The Trump-Russia dossier” claimed that Cohen had met with a few Russian officials in the Czech Republic. It was also claimed that he promised Russian officials a large sum of money if they were successful in hacking the “Democratic National Committee” (DNC). Cohen, on the other hand, denied having a conversation with Russian officials that prompted the investigation. The operation of “Essential Consultants LLC” was called into question the following year. Cohen established “Essential Consultants,” a Delaware shell company, to facilitate secret payments. An investigation was launched after questions about the company’s payment were raised. In April 2018, the FBI raided Cohen’s home, hotel room, and office.
