Popular performer Elijah Wood and his companion Mette-Marie Kongsved welcomed their second kid. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Wood addressed the kid, saying that his son and daughter awakened him and his wife up early in the morning. He mentioned that getting up early does not bother him and that he likes to start the day early. He went on to say that parenthood is difficult:
“It’s about my personal growth as much as it is about my child’s growth.”
Elijah and Mette-Marie have always chosen to keep their personal lives private, and in 2019 they discreetly received their first child. The following year, Elijah shared the news while speaking on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Mette-Marie Kongsved is a fashion artist and film director.
Mette-Marie Kongsved was born on May 10, 1991 in Denmark and presently resides in Los Angeles, California. She became interested in film production at a young age and started her work as a film production helper in 2012. The 31-year-old’s feature accomplishments include I Blame Society, Nine Days, Come to Daddy, Get Ducked, and I Don’t Feel at Home in the World Anymore. Kongsved’s job, parentage, financial wealth, and school history have yet to be disclosed in detail. Since 2018, she has been closely connected to Elijah Wood.
In 2016, Elijah Wood and Mette-Marie Kongsved met while working on I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore. The pair was first seen holding hands in 2018 and made their first public appearance as a relationship in 2019 at the Rodarte FW19 fashion show. Kongsved was seen displaying her baby bulge under an orange-colored dress alongside a band on her left hand when they were sighted in Los Angeles in 2019. However, the couple made no mention of their connection at the moment.
In 2020, US Weekly revealed that the couple had discreetly received their first child. Wood revealed on Late Night With Seth Meyers that he and Kongsved found out they were expecting a child on Christmas Eve 2018. He added, ”
“I haven’t smoked since [Christmas Eve].” That night, I found out we were expecting. On December 24th.”
From 2005 to 2010, Elijah Wood dated Pamela Racine, and from 2011 to 2017, Mette-Marie Kongsved was married to filmmaker Evan Louis Katz. Wood’s next appearance will be in the forthcoming dark comedic superhero film The Toxic Avenger, a remake of the 1984 film of the same name.
