Meet Stan Wawrinka Parents, Wolfram And Isabelle Wawrinka: Family & Siblings

Stan Wawrinka

Stan Wawrinka was one of four children born to Wolfram and Isabelle Wawrinka. Stan has two younger sisters and an older brother. The younger sisters, like his brother, had followed tennis careers. Despite their break from tennis, Stan’s sisters have always been there to support their elder brother Stan. Stanislas Wawrinka is a Swiss professional tennis player who achieved a career-high ATP singles rating of world No. 3 on January 27, 2014.

He began competing in international junior races at the age of 14 and went professional in 2002. His first ATP triumph came at the Croatia Open Umag when Novak Djokovic had to withdraw due to exhaustion. Furthermore, Wawrinka has three Grand Slam championships, all of which he earned by beating the world No. 1 in the final. In addition, he represented his nation in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he won gold in doubles with Roger Federer. He was also instrumental in the 2014 Davis Cup triumph.

Stanislas Wawrinka Parents

Stan was born in Switzerland to a Swiss mother and a German father and therefore has dual Swiss-German citizenship. Wolfram Wawrinka, his father, is a farmer and social worker of Czech heritage. His mother, Isabelle Wawrinka, is a teacher. As a biodynamic farmer, she also assists persons with disabilities. Later, the couple purchased “Ferme du Château,” a farm near Lausanne that had previously been managed by Wolfram’s parents.

They also cared for mentally ill individuals, allowing them to live outside of institutions and work on the family farm. Stan was reared on a farm by parents who never enjoyed sports, yet he was never deterred from pursuing his ambition of being a professional tennis player. Stan and his brother would go to the local tennis club and play tennis. Furthermore, the professional tennis player recognizes his parents’ efforts to provide for him and his brothers.

Stanislas Wawrinka Siblings

Tennis is in the Wawrinka siblings’ blood. Stan has three siblings, all of whom have played professional tennis at some time in their lives. Jonathan, his older brother, is also a former professional tennis player with a rating of 948. In 2020, he will create the Wawrinka Academy to help emerging talents achieve their dreams. John, who is three years older than Stan, used to play together as a youngster, but they no longer spoke to one other. Similarly, Naélla Wawrinka, his younger sister, was a right-handed tennis player who competed in women’s singles from 2009 to 2010.
