Meet Mike Hoffman Wife, Monika Hoffman: Married Life And Family Details

Mike Hoffman

Monika Hoffman, Mike Hoffman’s wife, gave birth to their first kid in August of this year. Monika and the NHL star have been married for five years. The Hoffmans had already been embroiled in a legal struggle. The dispute began when his former teammate Erik Karlsson’s wife, Melinda, accused him of cyberbullying. Hoffman and Karlsson traded allegations, but in the end, no criminal charges were filed against Monika. Karlsson was acquired by the San Jose Sharks, while Hoffman was acquired by the Florida Panthers.

Both parties seemed to have moved on from their courtroom drama. Hoffman currently plays for the San Jose Sharks, and Karlsson rose to prominence, becoming the highest-paid defenseman in 2019 with a $92 million deal.

Meet Mike Hoffman’s Wife, Monika Hoffman

Mike Hoffman’s wife, Monika Hoffman, has previously been embroiled in issues. Perhaps this is one of the reasons she avoids social media. Monika, the NHL player’s wife, earned a criminology degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2014. She formerly worked as a travel agent for Pro Travel Network and as a manager for Abercrombie & Fitch.

Monika does not have an Instagram account. Her Facebook account has not been changed in five years. Monika is visible to NHL fans because of her husband’s Instagram account. Mike has posted multiple images of himself with his wife on social media, and he was her staunchest supporter throughout her court struggle in 2018. At the time, the couple had not yet married.

Monika Hoffman and Melinda Karlsson Courtroom Drama

Erik Karlsson’s wife, Melinda Karlsson, and Monika were formerly acquaintances. Their spouses were colleagues and teammates with the Ottawa Senators. However, Melinda Karlsson filed a lawsuit against Monika in 2018 for claimed cyberbullying. The Karlssons accused Monika of sending them abusive tweets and emails. In May 2018, they also filed for an order of protection against Monika.

Melinda accused Monika of making multiple remarks in which she expressed her desire for her unborn child’s death. She further said Monika told her she was dead and that her husband’s legs should be severed to terminate his career. Mike and Monika both disputed the accusations, claiming they had nothing to do with the harassment. Monika also thought that the gossip website Talk Sports had a role in Melissa’s decision to turn against her.

Monika later employed an IT specialist, Kevin Horrocks, in the lawsuit to verify that the disparaging postings were not generated from her IP addresses. Horrocks’ analysis determined that the derogatory postings were not being posted from Monika’s IP address. But the harm had already been done. The club parted ways with Hoffman and Karlsson. Since that occurrence, the Karlsson family has founded the “Can’t Dim My Light” foundation to generate donations and raise awareness against bullying.

Mike and Monika Hoffman’s Marriage

Mike and Monika originally met while they were in high school. But, before their wedding, Mike hadn’t disclosed anything about Monika on his Instagram account. The NHL pair had announced their engagement before the scandal erupted. Mike proposed on one knee in 2018, and the two married in 2019 despite the legal struggle.

The wedding took place at Chateau LeParc in Vaughan, Canada. Rebecca Chan, their wedding planner, published many images from their wedding on her website. She characterized the event as a ‘Luxurious White event’ with white flowers, gold, and edgy black accents. The ceremony also had a mariachi band, which was a pleasant surprise. Mike shared a photo of the pair enjoying themselves by the seashore while on their honeymoon in Hawaii. The couple revealed earlier this year that they had become parents for the first time.

Mike posted a few photos of his newborn on June 2, 2023. They named their daughter, London Parker Hoffman. Mike recently posted a family picture of the couple enjoying their first Christmas as parents. Mike was carrying his daughter as the three of them stood by a massive Christmas tree adorned with ornaments.
