Maziyar Jobrani was born in Tehran, Iran, on February 26, 1972. His family relocated to California when he was six years old, and he spent the majority of his childhood in Tiburon, in the San Francisco Bay area. He graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur and was inducted into the school’s distinguished alumni class of 2017.
Jobrani received a B.A. in political science from UC Berkeley. Later, he enrolled in UCLA’s Ph.D. program but dropped out because he wanted to pursue his childhood dream of acting and performing comedy.
