Matt Rife Controversy & Scandal: What Did He Say? Airplane Tweet & Backlashes

Matt Rife

Matt Rife’s Airplane Tweet has caused outrage from many individuals who thought it was rude and disrespectful. Matt Rife, a well-known character in the entertainment business, came to prominence via TikTok, demonstrating his comic talent through self-produced specials and appearances on major comedy platforms like Wild’ n Out and Bring the Funny. His career, however, has not been without turbulence, since his comedy often straddles the line between amusement and offense, causing issues that have sparked outrage from a variety of sources.

Rife’s most recent dispute originated from a tweet on airline accidents, a subject that is inherently sensitive owing to the sad consequences of such events. Many people were offended by his remark about surviving a car accident, prompting allegations of insensitivity toward the victims.

“Bro, I’m DYING at how people think surviving plane crashes would go down,” the comic tweeted. If someone causes MY bag to “not survive” an emergency landing, YOU aren’t suited for this earth. Rife subsequently tweeted, “I know you were all concerned. I made it with my backpack. Now I can sleep well, knowing I irritated so many people who care much too much.” His dismissive tone in reaction to the criticism simply stoked the flames, displaying a lack of remorse for the hurt caused by his dark and edgy comedy.

Matt Rife Scandal & Controversy

Matt Rife’s previous tweets, which often appeared and disappeared quickly, have been tainted by claims of bigotry. During the COVID-19 epidemic, a deleted tweet attacked the cast of “Parasite” at the Oscars, generating harsh condemnation with its racially charged implications. “Everyone at the #Oscars is watching to see if the cast of Parasite coughs,” hinting that the Asian actors had been infected with the coronavirus.

“You’re not funny, you’re a douchebag,” one Twitter user said. Apart from the obvious fact that the cast is from KOREA rather than China, racism isn’t funny PERIODT.”

Meanwhile, the comedian instantly deleted his tweet but then said that he shared a joke on here and on my Instagram Story, and the replies were ASTOUNDINGLY different. “Proves once again that THIS is the worst social media platform.” “A bunch of cry babies,” Matt continued. Rife’s apparent indifference to the protests merely inflamed the already raging dispute, revealing a repeated trend.

Matt Rife’s Previous Tweets Have Resurfaced

Rife’s previous tweets featuring racial and homophobic obscenities from 2012 reappeared in 2016. According to Nicki Swift, Rife had a violent Twitter disagreement with another user called Brandon Wardell, which resulted in his past posts being published. The comedian used racial and homophobic obscenities regularly in several of his tweets.

According to the site, Rife attempted to excuse himself on Snapchat, but many people were unhappy and disgusted at the comic. Rife also tweeted an insensitive joke that year, saying,

“If I had a superpower, it would be the ability to leap high and sprint quickly… “I’d be referred to as a ‘Black Guy,'” according to Radar.

Rife angrily refuted allegations of racism and homophobia in a 2017 interview, blaming his previous words on adolescent inexperience. However, his following brush with trouble as a result of another questionable statement highlighted how the shadow of previous problems continued to hover over his career.
