Mark McGrath alongside Rodney Sheppard, Murphy Karges, and Stan Frazier formed “Sugar Ray”, an American rock band in Orange County, California in the year 1992. The band then signed with Atlantic Records in 1994 and with the song “Fly”, they kissed their first success in the year 1997.

In 1995, the band released their debut album “Lemonade and Brownies” and their second album “Floored” was released in 1997.
