Career

Taylor began her musical career at the age of fifteen with Orenda Fink in the band Little Red Rocket. Who Did You Pay (1997) and It’s in the Sound (2000) were the band’s two Geffen releases. The band split up amid the merger of Geffen Records and Universal Music Group. Taylor then relocated to Athens, Georgia, with her musical partner, Fink. They established the band Azure Ray there.

WARM signed the duo, and they published their self-title d debut as well as their second album, Burn and Shiver. Bright Eyes vocalist Conor Oberst brought the band on tour and recommended them to Saddle Creek after meeting them in Athens. Saddle Creek followed up with the November EP and Hold on Love. Taylor and Fink were on a 6-year break after the publication of Hold on Love, during which time they released separate albums. On May 24, 2005, Saddle Creek Records released her first solo album 11:11.

Taylor has also worked with Bright Eyes, Joshua Radin, Moby, Crooked Fingers, Whispertown, Abra Moore, and Nik Freitas.
