Malachi Nelson is the son of Eric and Naomi Nelson. Nelson’s father, a huge football lover, had a huge effect on his son to play the sport. Nelson showed early flashes of talent, with his father recalling his son having incredible arm power as early as the age of nine. He was also voted the Press-Telegram Player of the Year in his junior season after throwing for 2,690 yards and 39 touchdowns. Following his senior year, ESPN named the quarterback the top recruit in the country.
Before committing to Oklahoma, the young athlete had offers from various institutions, including Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC. Unfortunately, with the resignation of Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley, the quarterback chose to play at USC instead.

Life After Signing NIL Contract
Following the signing of his new deal, the young quarterback moved from a 1999 Ford Escape to a 2022 Mercedes AMG GLE 53 Coupe. Nelson Sr. made a joke about how the ancient automobile, called The Dragon, would break down and refuse to start when the pastor needed to pick up his children. The pastor compliments the improvement over their untrustworthy “The Dragon.”
Furthermore, Eric confesses that his son has made several extravagant purchases since signing the contract. However, the father of three is overjoyed that his son is learning smart financial thinking.
