McClung, 25, made history last year by becoming the first G-League player to win the Slam Dunk Contest. He amazed everyone last year with his 360s and double pumps, and he hopes to do the same this year. McClung has played four NBA games with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers. And he still wants to make it huge. The Athletic announced on Tuesday that McClung will defend his championship against Boston’s Jaylen Brown, Miami’s Jaime Jaquez Jr, and New York’s Jacob Toppin.

According to his social media handles, Mac McClung does not seem to have a girlfriend. However, there is a good likelihood that the basketball star is attempting to keep his love life out of the public eye. Mac McClung, a 25-year-old G-League player, has not posted any family-related content on his Instagram account. Most, if not all, of his Instagram postings revolve around his basketball career.

McClung, a native of Gate City, Virginia, started his basketball career at Gate City High School, where he distinguished himself as an acrobatic dunker. McClung played collegiately for three seasons, divided between Georgetown and Texas Tech. McClung averaged just under 15 points across the two collegiate teams and went undrafted in 2021. He joined the South Bay Lakers, the Los Angeles Lakers’ G-League affiliate. He got a ten-day deal with the Chicago Bulls before returning to South Bay and winning the G League Rookie of the Year.
Last year, he signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers and won the NBA Dunk Contest, propelling him into the public eye. He also won the G-League Championship with the Delaware Blue Coats, the 76ers’ affiliate club. Despite not being very active on Instagram, McClung has 1.2 million followers. His last post, in November, was a commercial promotion. And, although some athletes choose to keep their relationship private, they are taken off guard when their partners tag them in a post. But this is not the case with McClung. It’s possible that he’s too proficient at concealing his life facts, or that the G-League player just prefers being single.

After winning the Slam Dunk event last year, Mac McClung began receiving brand partnerships left, right, and center. Mac won both the trophy and the $100,000 reward. The $100,000 prize money equaled Mac’s total earnings in the G-League and single-game appearances with the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls.
In November, Mac inked a multi-year deal agreement with Puma. He had signed with the company before his remarkable performance at the NBA All-Star Weekend. He was also spotted promoting the men’s jewelry company Jaxxon and the sports business Break the Love, which aims to make recreational racquet sports more accessible. After the dunk contest, Mac teamed with AT&T, which had previously worked with the NBA. Last year, it was claimed that when Mac signed a two-way deal with the 76ers, his pay would be $508,891. McClung has always said that his love is basketball, not only dunking. Mac has said that he hopes to make the NBA roster. As a result, he refused many million-dollar offers from Europe and China.
