Lindsey Uselding, an emergency house remodeling specialist and co-founder of Practice house, will co-host remodeling 911 on HGTV with her sister. The new renovation-focused show’s cast member attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business studies while studying human resources, management, and marketing from 1998 to 2002.

The reality television personality began her job at Target, where she worked in a variety of capacities. She began as a senior team leader in January and was elevated to shop director three years later. Lindsey worked in Winona for nearly two years before being moved to Minneapolis and taking on the same job. She held the job for nearly six years before being elevated to Manager of Store Communications.

The Renovation 911 co-host then worked for Ungerman Inc. for nearly a decade before accepting a deal with HGTV for its forthcoming program in February 2021. Lindsey co-founded Practical Home in 2022, where she continues to collaborate with her sister Kirsten, who will also feature in the new makeover program. According to their website, practicalhome.com, the sisters are specialists in the field:

“Pioneers in modern, functional home design with a strong background in restoration, remodeling, and emergency response.”

Lindsey’s profile, on the other hand, highlights her experience, stating:

“I’m passionate about providing actionable tips to protect your home and give you peace of mind.” I don the emergency rescue cloak at Practical Home and Renovation 911 as the vice president and co-owner of Minneapolis-based building company Ungerman, Inc.”

It goes on to say:

“I teach savvy mavericks like you how to avoid problems and solve them using tried and true practical magic.”

In terms of entering the family business, Ungerman, a cast member of the HGTV program, explained to her college school that when her father hired her, the company had been in operation for 38 years, and it was time to “work on the business rather than in the business.”

Lindsey stated in HGTV’s news release:

“When a client has an emergency, Kirsten and I make certain that their family is safe and promise to get them back into their home as soon as possible.” We help them through the repair process, but our work is more than that. It’s about reuniting a family with their house.”
