Leslie Edwin Miles, also known as Les Miles, is a former American football coach. His most recent coaching position was with the football team Kansas. His head football coaching career began in 2001 when he coached the Oklahoma State Cowboys from 2001 to 2004. After that, he began coaching the LSU Football Tigers in 2005 and stayed for 11 years, until 2016.
He is known as “The Hat” because of his habit of wearing a white cap on and off the field, and he is also known as the “Mad Hatter” because of his sheer determination and skills. He was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State, the University of Michigan, and the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League before becoming a head coach (National Football League).
