Jacobs began competing in sports at the age of ten. He initially favored sprinting, but in 2011 he attempted a long jump. He won the Italian Athletics Championships in the long jump in 2016. Similarly, he finished the 2017 indoor season and placed 10th on the IAAF (now World Athletics). His personal best is 8.07 m. At the 2016 Mediterranean U23 Championships, he jumped 7.95 meters. At the 2016 Italian U23 Championships, he jumped 8.48 meters.
However, because of a 2.8 m/s tailwind, his achievement was not recognized as a national record.
He holds the 4*100 m national record with a time of 38.11, along with Federico Cattaneo, Davide Manetti, and Filippo Tortu. In October 2019, they broke the national record in Doha. He owns the national 60 m record with a timing of 6.47, which he set in Torun in March 2021.
In May 2021, he set the Italian record in 100 m with a time of 9.95. He earned his fourth national title after winning the Italian championship in 2021 with a time of 10.1. Furthermore, he won it three times earlier, in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as an Italian representative.
