In the year 2000, she began her career alongside percussionist James Culpepper. They have previously collaborated with guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann. She sang background vocals on “Run to You” and “Born Again” in 2008. She has also collaborated with Apocalyptica on “Broken Pieces” and Orianthi on “Courage.” Then she revealed that she had left Flyleaf amicably prior to the release of New Horizons in 2012.

She secured a publishing contract with Baker Publishing Group in 2013. Similarly, the following year (2014), she published her first novel, and her second was set to be released in 2016. Similarly, she appeared as a solo artist in Franklin Graham’s “Rock the Lakes,” “Rock the Range,” and “Rock the River” evangelistic tours in 2011. She announced the formation of a new band in 2014. She also performed with the American hard rock band Letters from the Fire in 2017 and has plans to play with Red, Righteous Vendetta, and Messer in 2018.

Sturm released the first single off her next album, The Decree, in May 2020. The song was composed by Skillet’s Korey Cooper. She sang backup vocals on Love and Death 2021’s rendition of Justin Bieber and DJ Snake’s song Let Me Love You for the Perfectly Preserved album.
