Kristin Pelinka, Rob Pelinka’s wife, is just as accomplished as he is. Many basketball fans recognize Rob Pelinka as the man in charge of the Los Angeles Lakers, serving as the team’s Vice President of Basketball Operations and general manager.
As an agent, he has naturally represented many well-known basketball players, including Kobe Bryant, Derrick Williams, Dion Waiters, and Kevin Durant. But Pelinka is more than just an athlete’s agent; he was once one himself. Pelinka played basketball for Lake Forest High School and was selected to several regional all-star teams by the end of his senior year. He was eventually recruited by the University of Michigan and played for the Wolverines from 1989 to 1993. He appeared in 36 games, scoring 4.3 points, grabbing 2.1 rebounds, and dishing out one assist per game. At Michigan, he was known not only for his athletic ability but also for his intelligence. He earned a 3.9 GPA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Following that, he attended Michigan Law School and earned his Juris Doctor cum laude in order to work as a sports agent. Following that, Pelinka joined Mayer Brown, and two years later, he joined SFX management as an agent. During his time at SFX, he met the woman who would become his wife.
Wife of Pelinka
The Los Angeles Times reported in June 2005 that Pelinka had proposed to Kristin Brett Schwarz, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schwarz of Corona del Mar. They married two months later. Kristin attended Duke University and then the UCLA School of Medicine. She then finished her pediatric residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
She works as a pediatrician in Costa Mesa, California. Her medical interests include “child development, behavioral issues, special needs children, and international medicine,” according to her bio on the Costa Mesa website. The pediatrician discussed her motivation for becoming a doctor in an interview with Sapres. Kristin revealed that she had wanted to be a doctor since she was 11 years old because she loved math and science, but it wasn’t until much later that she realized she had found her true calling.
Volunteering by the Pelinkas
Pelinka and his wife are both intelligent and successful people. Aside from their occupations, the couple volunteers at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Pelinka and Kristin’s children, Durham and Emery, volunteered at The Painted Turtle Camp.
Pelinka’s organization also works with the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation to help non-profit community organizations. The foundation focuses on sports and promotes education, teamwork, and self-esteem among Los Angeles youth. The foundation’s funds are used to provide financial assistance to children and local youth programs.
