Kordell Stewart is a former American football player who spent 11 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), mostly with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He attended Colorado University and is most known for the “Miracle at Michigan,” a Hail Mary pass he completed to upset Michigan in 1994. He was given the moniker ‘Slash’ because his ability to play numerous positions other than quarterback, including wide receiver, running back, punter, and kick returner.
The Steelers drafted him in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft. His most successful season was in 2001 when he led Pittsburgh to the top seed in the AFC and a return to the conference championship game while receiving Pro Bowl honors. Kordell Steward received his education at John Ehret High School in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. In 1991, he was awarded a scholarship to the University of Colorado.
