Hope Solo, a former American soccer goalkeeper, has been arrested for alleged drunk driving. According to the New York Post, she was arrested in North Carolina on Thursday (March 31st) after being found passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle with her children in the car, according to a police report.

The 42-year-old was arrested just one day before the wedding on suspicion of assaulting Hope. However, he was released without charge the next day, and they married the following day. Rich Nichols, a member of Hope’s legal team, took to Instagram on Monday (April 1st) to issue a statement on her behalf regarding her recent arrest.
“Hope is unable to speak about the situation due to counsel’s advice, but she wants everyone to know that her children are her life, that she was released immediately, and that she is now at home with her family.”
“The story is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest,” he continued, “and she looks forward to her opportunity to defend these charges.” A court date has been set for June 28th, according to the New York Post.
