Kirstin met Scott Haying in high school, and later met one of Scott’s best friends, Mitch Grassy, while performing in local plays. They decided to form a trio and compete in a local radio singing competition, which led to them becoming very popular in school and performing at various school events and local shows, covering some of the most popular songs. She did, however, leave the group after matriculation to attend college.
