Married for almost two decades
Kirsten and her husband have been married for almost two decades. They originally met at Brigham Young University, where they both studied. In an interview with Screen Rant, her spouse said that his relationship advice would be loyalty and putting aside pettiness. And his most important piece of advice is to acquire selflessness. It’s not so much about surrendering what you want as it is about recognizing not to sweat the little stuff and not to pet the sweaty item.
He went on to suggest that concentrating on what you like about them and heading in that way helps to improve the relationship since there is a lot of enjoyment in sticking to that and focusing on what’s good.
The motivation for leaving Hollywood
Kirsten and her family relocated from Los Angeles to the Pacific Northwest and are enjoying it so far. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, her spouse said that as a child, he longed to work in the entertainment sector and dreamed of creating creative things. Still, it wasn’t about becoming a major celebrity. However, with Napoleon Dynamite, he gained more notice and recognition.
When he had to cope with popularity, he began to let it worry him more, and this crept into his brain. He finally understood he couldn’t let it upset him any longer. Heder is delighted to be able to continue working in this field while also feeling as normal as possible. He went on to say that he and his wife are parenting their children in the most natural manner imaginable. Similarly, Michael Rosenbaum mentioned on the Inside Of You Podcast that he felt like a continuous outsider after moving to Hollywood for the whole time he lived there, but not in a terrible sense. He accepted and enjoyed it, which put him apart a little.
Kirsten believes that family should be prioritized since they will be their whole lives.
She and her husband spoke on the “In Love Podcast” in 2019, where they discussed how to balance and maintain a good marital life, as well as the significance of putting their family first. Kirsten and Jon met for the first time in 2001. They began dating in 1999 and married in 2002. According to Kirsten, when they first met, they were both very penniless and would steal food from Jon’s grandparents’ home.
When they weren’t at home, they’d go there. Jon began filming Napoleon Dynamite a little over a year after their marriage. Kirsten said that they aim to prioritize their family above everything else, adding that everything in the business is ephemeral and goes up and down, however, family is long-term. They will stay there for the rest of their lives. She believes that family should be prioritized. Also, the reason they have made family their first priority is that family is what you have for the rest of your life, and if you don’t have it, you’ll have nothing after this is all over. Kirsten also said that while they were producing Napoleon, she had gotten her first major job out of college, and she was overjoyed since she was earning more money than she expected.
She remembered Jon telling her that he was making Napoleon, and she told him to go for it since she was the one earning the money. She was overjoyed to be there to support her husband, and she viewed the film for the first time at Sundance. They also said that they are extremely private, but that they do not feel the need to be public about everything they do or what their family does. They keep it all in-house. He is OK with her not wanting to be in the spotlight because he wants her to feel at ease, but there are moments when he is like, “I want to share this with you.” Jon expressed his delight in Kirsten, saying, “This is my wife, and I am completely happy with her, how she looks, how she is, and what she stands for.” He went on to say that he wants everyone to know, but he also wants to keep it private.
