Kim Jung-hyun and Im Soo-hyang will co-star in Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol (The Season of Kkok Du), an upcoming MBC fantasy romantic drama (literal translation). Kim Jung-hyun, who was last seen in Mr. Queen (2020), is making a two-year return. He rose to prominence after appearing in the play Crash Landing on You. Meanwhile, Im Soo-hyang can be seen in the MBC drama Doctor Lawyer, which is now airing. She rose to prominence for her performance in the 2018 love drama My ID is Gangnam Beauty.
The Season of Kkok Du will tell the narrative of Kkokdu, a cruel reaper who comes to Earth every 99 years to punish humanity. When he returns to the world, he meets Han Gye-jeol, a doctor with strange and enigmatic skills, and begins working as a visiting doctor.
Kang Yi-heon and Heo Jun-woo of MBC’s crime thriller Less Than Evil wrote the next drama (2018). Meanwhile, the drama will be helmed by Baek Soo-chan, who previously directed Alice (2020), and Kim Ji-hoon, who previously directed Check Out The Event (2021).

Kim Jung-Hyun and Im Soo-enigmatic Hyang’s relationship will grow in the next MBC drama
Kim Jung-hyun and Im Soo-hyang, who will play the key parts in The Season of Kkokdu, have piqued people’ interest with their diverse acting abilities. Kkokdu/Do Jin-woo will be played by Kim Jung-hyun. God chastised him for his wrongdoings and made him the guide of the underworld. He guides the deceased to the afterlife and also cleans up human garbage by inhabiting the body of Do Jin-woo, a human who resembles him. Although the cause for his curse is unknown, it will be exciting to watch whether Kkokdu is able to break free.
Im Soo-hyang will portray Han Gye-jeol, a doctor who graduated from the country’s worst medical school. Furthermore, after her mother’s death, she has no relatives save for her younger brother. She begins to feel lonely as a result of others looking down on her, who only recognize physicians from prominent schools, until Do Jin-woo enters her life.
The production crew also remarked on the inclusion of the two principal actors. They stated:

The release date has not yet been announced by the production team, and the same goes for the remainder of the cast roster. However, according to rumors, the program is presently being shot.
