She began her career in 2008, when she appeared in the music video Gossip Boy, and then went on to work on other commercials and advertising. Her acting career began with the play Mrs. Saigon, in which she made her debut. She gained to prominence after appearing in the 2011 television series High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged. She made her cinematic debut in the romantic omnibus film Romantic Heaven. Kim then appeared in the high school drama To the Beautiful You as well as the horror flick Horror Stories.
She also starred in the KBS Drama Special Waiting for Love with BoA, I’m Si Wan, and Choi Daniel. In 2014, she starred in the criminal thriller Gap-dong. In the 2013 smash hit The Heirs, she played Lee Min-ho, aka Kim Tan’s fiancée. She also co-starred in the 2017 KBS2 romantic drama Fight for My Way with Park Seo-Joon.
