Lame had 140.7 million app followers on June 15, 2022, while D’Amelio had 141.3 million. Lame has 143.1 million at the time of writing, whereas D’Amelio has 142.2 million. The original Tiktokroom announced the news on their Instagram page, and netizens’ reactions were mixed. Some congratulated Lame, while others thought D’Amelio deserved to have more followers than him.

A third user said that the TikTok queen probably didn’t care about TikTok anymore since she was too busy doing her own thing. Some even alleged that Lame had purchased the followers in order to dethrone D’Amelio. Lame and D’Amelio have yet to respond to the news.
