Kevin Whitmer Arrest: What Did He Do? Charges And Whereabout

Kevin Whitmer

The San Jose Police Department arrested Kevin Whitmer, a former coach of the San Jose Jr. Sharks. The terrible news has put salt in the Sharks’ wounds since they have yet to win an NHL game. Kevin Matthew Whitmer, a well-known personality in the field of hockey coaching, has had quite a career. Whitmer is from Denver, Colorado, and attended Homestead High School before graduating from De Anza College in 2012. His enthusiasm for hockey and coaching led him to a variety of positions in the sports and entertainment industries.

Whitmer’s professional path was unconventional, beginning at the Nazareth Ice Oasis and ending at GameStop.
During the difficult COVID-19 epidemic, he even worked as a drive-thru barista at Starbucks. His extensive work includes serving as a Skating Coach and Private Skills Coach for the San Jose Sharks. Furthermore, he took on the role of AAA Hockey Head Coach for the San Jose Jr. Sharks until May 2023.

According to several sources, recent events have cast a shadow on Whitmer’s career and reputation. “This individual has not coached in our program since May 2023,” a statement from Sharks Sports & Entertainment said. It’s important to mention that Whitmer had not been involved with the program since May of that year. This makes him a potential candidate for the aforementioned arrest. Thus, the timing of his departure from the program fueled extensive conjecture regarding his role in the disaster. According to the statement, they did not hear about the claims until after he had left the program.

Sharks Sports & Entertainment stressed that all of their young coaches are pre-screened and SafeSport Certified. This screening involves thorough criminal background checks to determine the appropriateness of coaches working with young athletes. The firm reiterated its commitment to the safety and security of young athletes and their families. The statement also stated their readiness to fully assist with any inquiry into the situation. This terrible sequence of events has dealt a blow to the San Jose Sharks and their supporters. The NHL club was already having a difficult season, highlighted by their problems on the field. With the arrest of former coach Kevin Whitmer, the organization has found itself in an unpleasant spotlight.
