Career
In 1982, he started his career as the TV and radio voice of the NBA Kansas City Kings. During his undergraduate years, he expressed an interest in anchoring and even worked as a basketball commentator during his post-graduate program. He worked on ESPN from 1992 to 1993 before joining the FOX network in 1994. He also worked as an NFL announcer from 1994 to 1997.
He worked as an announcer for Turner Sports and covered NBA playoff games. He eventually joined CBS in 1998 to serve as a play-by-play broadcaster. In the same year, Kevin Harlan was appointed as a basketball commentator for the Goodwill Games. On WBBM-TV, he covered multiple Bowl games, Green Bay Packers pre-season games, the Chicago Bears, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and many more teams.
He started working as the primary play-by-play announcer for Westwood One Radio’s “Monday Night Football” in 2009, covering Super Bowl XLV.
