Kevin Conroy, the actor, died on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. He was most recognized for his work as the voice of Batman in many animated programs and films. Diane Pershing, a voice actor, announced the news on social media. She said,
“We have very terrible news: our beloved Batman voice actor, Kevin Conroy, died yesterday.” He’s been sick for a long, but he put in a lot of time at the conventions, much to the delight of all of his followers. He will be sadly missed not just by the characters of the show, but also by his legions of admirers worldwide.”
Pershing went on,
“Below are photos of Kevin with Loren Lester, who portrays Robin, and another with me and Tara Strong, who appears in later Batman animation episodes.” Finally, one of Kevin and myself in front of the large crowds we used to draw when we performed our panels. “Rest in peace, buddy.”
Kevin Conroy’s reps reported that he died after a brief fight with cancer, however, it is unclear when he was diagnosed.

Kevin Conroy’s acting career started in the theater.
Conroy, who was born on November 30, 1955, received a scholarship at the Juilliard School’s drama division in 1973 and graduated in 1978. He then performed with John Houseman’s acting company, The Acting Company, on a nationwide tour of Ira Levin’s play Deathtrap.
Kevin then relocated to California in 1980 and landed a recurring part on the daytime soap series Another World. He then appeared in plays such as Hamlet as well as other modern and classic theatrical performances. In 1985, he returned to television with Covenant, a TV movie, and starred in programs such as Dynasty, Ohara, Tour of Duty, Cheers, Search for Tomorrow, Matlock, and others.
He rose to prominence as the voice of Batman in the 1992 television series Batman: The Animated Series. Conroy continued to play the DC superhero in subsequent episodes and films, including The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero. He helped with relief operations after the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City by cooking for police officers and firemen. In March 2014, he returned to the Arkham series as Batman in Batman: Arkham Knight.
Kevin also appeared in Tim Daly’s online series, where he portrayed Batman in a battle with Daly playing Superman. He later appeared in an episode of Batwoman as Bruce Wayne from Earth-99. Conroy, who was openly homosexual, authored his highly lauded novel Finding Batman earlier this year, which described his life and experiences as a gay man. The tale appeared in DC Comics’ annual LGBTQIA+-themed anthology. Conroy is survived by his wife, Vaughn C. Williams, as well as his sister Trisha Conroy and brother Tom Conroy.
