Kathleen McLaughlin: Jared Fogle’s Ex-Wife Where Is She?

Kathleen McLaughlin

‘Jared From Subway: Catching a Monster’ on Investigation Discovery delves into the life of former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle and follows the investigation that exposed him as a child predator. After receiving a tip about possible predatory behavior from journalist and radio host Rochelle Herman-Walrond, federal and state authorities began investigating Jared.

Kathleen McLaughlin, Jared’s wife, insisted that she was unaware of her husband’s crime until the FBI knocked on their door. Nonetheless, after Jared pled guilty to child pornography and child prostitution charges in 2015, readers are curious as to where his wife is now. So, let’s take a closer look at the incident and figure out where Kathleen McLaughlin is now.

Kathleen McLaughlin: Who Is She?

Kathleen McLaughlin thought she had found her soulmate when she met Jared Fogle. It didn’t take long for the two to meet, and they were soon talking about marriage and the future. Eventually, the couple married in 2010 and moved to Zionsville, Indiana, eager to begin a new chapter in their lives.

Kathleen and Jared’s lives were pretty happy until they welcomed their first child, Brady Fogle, into the world in 2011. Quinn Fogle, their second child, was born just two years later in 2013, and everything seemed to be going swimmingly.

Kathleen stated in an interview following Jared’s arrest that her husband appeared to be a good father and that there was no evidence of his predatory behavior. She even admitted that both kids had a great relationship with their father and that she had no idea Jared was involved in such a heinous and disgraceful crime. Besides, she and Jared were happy in their marriage, with nothing out of the ordinary.

Jared, on the other hand, continued his predatory behavior behind Kathleen’s back, and she was forced to deal with the horrifying consequences when the FBI showed up at their door on July 7, 2015. Kathleen later stated that it felt like a bolt from the blue when the officers informed her that they had a warrant to search their home for any evidence of child prostitution or child pornography. Although Kathleen initially refused to believe the accusations, the facts confronted her, and she felt betrayed by her husband.

Aside from being concerned for her children’s safety, she was completely perplexed and had no idea what to do. Kathleen, in fact, told several news outlets that she knew nothing about Jared’s actions and that “he had two lives going on.” You know, he was at home with the kids and me in one life and on the road in another, and he was able to keep those two very separate in a way that I couldn’t even fathom.”

What happened to Kathleen McLaughlin?

Kathleen was determined that Jared’s crimes would not ruin her and her children’s lives. As a result, about six weeks after the FBI raided their home, she filed for divorce and fought for sole custody of their children. Furthermore, knowing that some would accuse her of complicity in her husband’s crimes, she discussed her divorce in a 2016 CBS interview, saying, “I mean, how could anyone think that I would stay married to a man and have children with a man who was doing this?” I wouldn’t be there, of course. Of course, I’m not going to stay with him. “I had no idea.”

Jared eventually pled guilty in November 2015 to one count each of distribution and receipt of child pornography and traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor. As a result, he was charged with sex offenses and sentenced to 15 years and eight months in prison. In addition, the judge sentenced him to life in prison with supervised release and ordered him to pay $225,000 in fines and $1.4 million in restitution fees. While Kathleen was outraged by Jared’s actions, she believed he was not solely to blame for the crimes.

Instead, Kathleen accused his employer, Subway, of knowing about the crimes and sued them in 2016 for ignoring complaints about Jared’s actions. However, the lawsuit was eventually dismissed by a judge in 2017. Kathleen is currently embracing privacy and raising her children as a single mother. Although she prefers to keep her personal life private, she has built a life with her loved ones and is fighting to not let the past affect her future. Besides, from what we can tell, she is currently residing in Indiana, and we wish her the best in the coming years.
