Grainger stated she enjoys criminal literature and television/film series. She claimed that during the London Olympics, she and Anna Watkins would binge-watch episodes of The Killing to take their minds off their races.
She claimed that she still reads and watches crime as a kind of relaxation, and she still enjoys the theater. Katherine currently serves as the Chair of UK Sport. She was appointed for four years in 2017 and reappointed for four more years in 2021.
