In 2018, the Daily Mail stated that Berkery was an aspiring model. In addition to modeling, she worked as a shipping clerk at New York’s Regine’s nightclub. The Daily Mail also stated that she had a three-day affair with Tom Jones, a well-known singer who had participated as a vocal coach on The Vocal UK. Berkery met Tom Jones at a restaurant in 1987 while working as a restaurant manager. Their connection culminated in the birth of Jonathan Berkery, also known as Jon Jones. Tom Jones disputed Jonathan’s paternity at first, but when a paternity test showed the truth, he was ordered to pay £1,700 a month to Berkery for Jonathan’s care for the first 18 years of his life. He also gave her a £50,000 out-of-court settlement.
Berkery quit modeling to work as an estate agent. She was named as an estate agent in the Daily Mail in 2013. Berkery starred as one of the club ladies in Picture Perfect, a 2006 short film on the unrealistic expectations put on women in American culture.
